THE SHAPE

The Round Bead teapot is one of the eighteen traditional shapes of Yixing teapots by MAN-SHENG. Its name derives from its spherical body design. There are two versions of the Round Bead teapot, differing only slightly: one with a slightly flattened spherical body, the other with a completely round body; one with a short spout, the other with a double-curved spout; one with a thick handle, the other with a slender one.

This "Round Bead teapot" features an elegant and simple design, with a soft and rounded shape that exudes a dignified charm. The gradual transition from fullness to subtlety in the teapot body gives it an upright and stable appearance, embodying a serene and exquisite beauty that is beyond words. Particularly, the upper part of the teapot body resembles the graceful shoulders of a beauty, adding to its elegance; the pouring spout of the teapot exhibits a firm and resolute posture, demonstrating the exquisite skill of the potter through its clear and smooth lines.

"Round" symbolizes satisfaction and perfection, representing the pursuit of a fulfilling life and a complete existence. "Harmony in roundness" implies the fusion of roundness leading to perfection.

圆珠壶是曼生十八式之一,器身为圆珠形因而得名。曼生圆珠壶共有二款,相差无几,仅壶身一个略扁圆,一个呈圆形;流一个短流,一个二弯流; 把一个粗一个细。

这把“圆珠壶”造型典雅,形制古朴,柔和圆润,气韵端庄;壶身上丰下敛的渐变形态,亭亭玉立,端庄安定,静谧之美妙实在是不可言。尤其是壶身的上部,形若美人肩,甚是秀美;跑嘴壶流,尽见强硬之姿,实在绝妙,如此清晰流畅的线条表现出制壶者高超的技艺。

“圆”意味着满足,意味着完美,人们追求圆满的生活,圆满的人生。“圆融”,由圆而融,止于至善。

泥料

原矿朱泥,胎骨坚硬而沉实,色泽朱红略泛桔光,温润透明质感之佳,与清中期好的朱泥无异;大器无法烧成,小品烧成后穀皱纹隐现,颇具古代朱泥风华。

赵庄朱泥成品红中带黄,区别于小煤窑朱泥的红艳。
赵庄朱泥原矿灰、白、带黄棕色,呈片状结构;本原矿由于泥性较重,故较不易成砂,需采自嫩泥矿中较坚硬的部份,而制陶者为了求得更精细的泥料,将红泥先洗泥沉淀,得到约140目到180目细孔的朱泥胎土,制成细如滑脂的朱泥壶。

朱泥的土质成份,其特色是含有极高的氧化铁,约在14%到18%之间,这是朱泥烧成后壶身成为红色的主要原因。
由于朱泥的泥性甚娇,成型工艺难度亦高,而朱泥由生坯至烧成,因收缩率高达30%至40%,故一般成品良率约仅七成。 温馨提醒:朱泥壶使用前须先温壶。

【特点】周身密布粗犷颗粒,形成特殊风格;红润又具砂感,器身明显成双气孔结构,空气对流顺畅,别于一般陶器;质朴拙雅,美冠群伦,人气之佳历数百年而不衰
